About Me: Case History

Online Case History
Much of my work focuses on revolutionizing existing business practices and helping to move them online. This includes such things as supply chain management, customer relationship management, online bill payment, and other activities which require a high degree of security. Other times, I help organizations create entirely new systems to help them get off the ground. Regardless, it is, thus, very rare that I can provide access to potential clients to my previous work.
To help you get a sense of the work that I've done in the past, here's a description of some of the applications that I've produced for previous clients.
News and Blogs
Just about any site I work on needs a way to quickly share current information with site visitors. Whether it's a form of blog to tell your family about what you're up to, a portfolio to share your latest work, or a news letter about the progress of your organization towards its goals, putting this sort of information online is an extremely common need. Plus, utilizing database technology allows you to create e-mail versions of your postings that you can send on regular or irregular intervals.
Event Managers and Calendars
After current news and information, current events are another common need for sites. Along with the presentation of events to visitors, site owners also need a way to get that information into the site's databases. Secure, password-protected online event management applications that your employees, group members, or family can access together to manage the information can be made extremely sophisticated and the information entered into it can then be made available to the visiting public.
Time Tracking, Billing, and Invoicing
A time tracking application online can be very useful for businesses that have hourly employees in various locations. As long as computers can be set up with Internet access at those locations, then your employees can easily log into a secure web application and enter the time spent on various tasks. The data collected by these tools ends up being invaluable to employers who need to provide billing and invoicing data to clients or customers. And, I've frequently prepared methods by which the information in the web application can be exported into desktop applications like Quicken.
Scheduling Systems
If you've resources that can only be used by a single person or group at a time or if you want people to set up meetings or appointments online, then I can help you build such a tool to your exact specifications. I've frequently produced tools allowing clients, patients, customers, or even colleagues to schedule the use of some of your time or the use of your equipment that will also allow your employees or yourself to restrict times that you aren't available. Plus, these sorts of systems can be integrated with billing or invoicing tools as necessary.
Shopping Carts and Inventory Management
Whether your inventory is nigh limitless or you've only limited stocks, I've built shopping carts to help your visitors buy your stuff. Sure, there are a number of online, free shopping cart and inventory tools that you can download and install, but many of them are very complex and may take some time to learn. Plus, they may not allow you to describe your wares in as much detail as you would like because they need to be as general as possible. When you design a tool with me, we can make sure that you have all the right information in the right spot so you can make money.
Online Bill Pay
Whether you've an existing business that you'd like to expand onto the Web or if you want to build a different tool with Magic Hat Development, online bill payment is a modern day convenience. And, it's also relatively easy to set up. We can provide a variety of options to your customers like PayPal or Google Checkout and we can even set up a payment gateway right on your site allowing customers to pay you with a credit or debit card without using a third-party checkout system.
Content Management Systems
Content Management Systems (or CMS) are online applications that allow you to alter the information on your web site without needing to know all the technical details of editing the actual web files. These tools can take the form of Wikis, which may allow the editing of every page of your site, to more specific systems to produce online resumes, academic transcripts, biographical profiles, photo galleries, staff or member directories, and more.
